Open urethroplasty


Internal urethrotomy is usually the first choice for treatment of both anterior and posterior strictures. This operation carries a high risk of recurrence. Many experts are of the opinion that recurrences should be treated by open urethroplasty.

Patients are usually admitted the day before surgery and stay in the hospital for 3 days. Recommended sick leave from work is 2-4 weeks.
