Head and Neck Cancer

All decisions on therapy are carried out at tumor board meetings together with our collaborating departments: the Department of Otolaryngology, the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery, and the Department of Plastic Surgery.

External irradiation is one of the basic therapies for treatment of cancers in the head and neck. We have a modern radiotherapy unit with short waiting times and extensive experience in treatments of head and neck cancer. Treatment results are continuously followed up in our own tumor register.

We have used brachytherapy as an add-on to external irradiation or as a standalone therapy for 15 years. The results are also followed up in our tumor register. In comparison to international reports, we have good results with few complications.

We also have a large amount of experience of medical tumor treatments for head and neck cancer.
